Sinuspinde ng Office of
the Ombudsman ng anim na buwan na walang sahod ang 12 opisyal ng Department of
Education (DepEd) at Department of Budget and Management (DBM) dahil sa umano’y
overpriced laptops para sa mga guro noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo
Duterte.
Sa 11-pahinang
resolusyon, binigyang diin ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires na nakakita ng sapat
na ebidensiya ang kanyang tanggapan upang suspendihin ang mga opisyal dahil sa
grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, at gross neglect of duty kaugnay sa
pagbili ng laptops.

Sinabi ng Ombudsman na
ang suspension ay alinsunod sa Section 27 ng Ombudsman law at ang kautusan ay
kailangang ipatupad sa lalong madaling panahon.
Ang kaso ay naisampa sa
Ombudsman ng Senate blue ribbon committee na nagsagawa ng pagdinig kaugnay ng
