MGA OPISYALES NG DEPED AT DBM, SINUSPINDE NG OMBUDSMAN DAHIL SA ‘OVERPRICED’ LAPTOPS




Sinuspinde ng Office of the Ombudsman ng anim na buwan na walang sahod ang 12 opisyal ng Department of Education (DepEd) at Department of Budget and Management (DBM) dahil sa umano’y overpriced laptops para sa mga guro noong panahon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

 

Sa 11-pahinang re­solusyon, binigyang diin ni Ombudsman Samuel Martires na nakakita ng sapat na ebidensiya ang kanyang tanggapan upang suspendihin ang mga opisyal dahil sa grave misconduct, serious dishonesty, at gross neglect of duty kaugnay sa pagbili ng laptops.

 

Kabilang sa mga sinuspinde sina DepEd Undersecretary Annalyn Sevilla, dating DepEd usec. Alain del Pascua, dating DBM usec. Lloyd Christopher Lao, DepEd Assistant Secretary for Administration and Procurement Salvador Malana III, Director Abram Abanil ng Information and Communications Techno­logy Services, DepEd/Designated Ad Hoc Member, Special Bids and Awards Committee (SBAC-1) para sa “Laptop for Teachers” Project.

 

Sinuspinde rin sina Director Jasonmar Uayan, Officer-in-Charge, Executive Director, Procurement Service-DBM, Ulysees Mora Procurement Management Officer, PS-DBM and Designated Chairperson, SBAC-1,Marwin Amil, Procurement Management Officer I, PS-DBM and Designated Provisional Member, SBAC-1; Alec Ladanga, Executive Assistant IV, Office of Undersecretary Sevilla, DepEd, Marcelo Bragado, Director IV, Procurement Management Service, DepEd at Selwyn Briones, Supervising Administrative Officer, DepEd, at Paul Armand Estrada, Procurement Management Officer V, PS-DBM - Designated Regular Member, SBAC-1.

 

Sinabi ng Ombudsman na ang suspension ay alinsunod sa Section 27 ng Ombudsman law at ang kautusan ay kailangang ipatupad sa lalong madaling panahon.

 

Ang kaso ay naisampa sa Ombudsman ng Senate blue ribbon committee na nagsagawa ng pagdinig kaugnay ng naturang anomalya. | JOHN RONALD GUARIN
