K5 NEWS FM 

History

K5 News FM was once a Xanthone Plus Broadcasting Services and now a 5K Broadcasting Network Incorporated. It is the newest radio station in Western Visayas that is accessible through radio receivers, cellphone, audio streaming or live video via Facebook.

This Radio Station features a unique brand of programming by breaking the traditional programs in FM and AM stations. 

K5 News FM combined music, entertainment, and news through its moniker “BALITA AT MUSIKA PINAG-ISA”. Thus, K5 News FM becomes a total package for entertainment and news FM station. The programs are hosted by the best disc jockeys and news personnel in the media industry.

 

How did it all begin?

It started as a dream of a man who decided to settle in Bacolod City in 1998 while he fell in love in listening to dramas, music and public affairs in radio.

This man is Mr. Ramel Y. Uy, a visionary, who started to develop his skills and continue to discover his passion in herbal medicine until he invented Xanthone Plus Herbal Capsule on June 2013. Because of his hard work and dedication, Xanthone Plus Herbal Capsule became a household name in the entire Visayas and Mindanao areas to all herbal medicine users. 

In 2015, he started to build his dream of putting up his first radio station in the Province of Antique.

He started with 95.7 K5 News FM San Jose on August 10, 2015 and 95.9 K5 News FM Culasi Antique on October 25, 2016. 

His burning desire continues and this is to put up his own radio station in his hometown, Negros. In April 2017, he built his own radio station in Negros Occidental through 89.7 K5 News FM Sagay, followed by 102.9 K5 News FM Kabankalan City on May 17, 2017. His dream to build a radio station in Bacolod City became a reality, when K5 News FM 100.5 echoed in the airwaves and was officially lauched in August 7, 2017.

It was in 2018 when the frequency of K5 News FM Bacolod has been changed to 103.9 in the FM Band. 

From then on, the radio station slowly captured the hearts of the people not only in Bacolod City but in the whole province of Negros Occidental.
