Matapos ang makasaysayang panalo ng Gilas Pilipinas laban sa China nitong Setyembre 2 ng gabi, inihayag ni national team coach Chot Reyes na posibleng titigil na siya sa pag-coach ng naturang kopononan.
Ayon kay Reyes, “I think it is time for me to step aside,” dahil sa walang tigil na pagbatikos mula sa mga tagasuporta ng Pinoy basketball.
“Through all the preparation time I have always said judge us on our performance in the World Cup… obviously we did not perform and as I said in the last game I take full accountability,” pahayag ni Reyes matapos ang laban sa China.
“After a while, it was
just too heavy. It has been too painful, too heavy. Just to be very honest,
bastos naman talaga ‘yung ibang pinagsasabi. I don’t deserve it, my family
